Mexic-Arte Museum is dedicated to cultural enrichment and education through the collection, preservation and presentation of traditional and contemporary Mexican, Latinx, and Latin American art and culture to promote dialogue and develop understanding for visitors of all ages.
Position Description
Full-time salaried position with Mexic-Arte Museum. Office hours are 9-6 Mondays to Thursdays and 9-5 on Fridays. The Development Coordinator plays a vital role in all aspects of fundraising, special events, grants writing, and development programs. The coordinator helps to build on existing fundraising initiatives. Possibility to gain management experience in hiring and supervision of development interns. Candidate should be available some evenings and weekends for special events and receptions.
Development Coordinator responsibilities include:
Grant Writing:
Responsible for development of grant proposals for corporate, foundation, and public grants, management of various grant contracts, and maintenance of digital and paper grant files. Maintain calendar of grant due dates to be updated weekly. Grant writing will focus on securing funding for operations, programs and special events.
Grants Management:
Responsible for managing grants calendar, reporting and tracking benefits fulfillment.
Membership:
Responsible for membership recruiting, retention, cultivation, and renewals; maintaining database.
Special Events:
Assist in planning, coordinating, managing, and executing special events, including but not limited to VIP and exhibition opening receptions, Museum member events, Taste of Mexico, Viva la Vida Festival and Parade, and the Catrina Gala.
Sponsorships:
Manage monetary, product, and in-kind donation requests and sponsorships for special events and receptions.
Data Management:
Develop, manage and maintain donor database Bloomerang and varied grant databases; Organizes and maintains digital and paper files for all grant proposals, donor tracking, and thank you letters. Create and maintain donor databases, track donor history, manage all donor mailing materials, acknowledgements, and communications. Cultivate new donor/sponsor relationships and maintain existing ones. Oversees proper acknowledgement of monetary and in kind donors/sponsors in Museum promo materials, newsletters, donor board, etc.
Other:
Proofreading monthly newsletter, exhibition and other promotional materials as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Literature, English, Museum Studies, Public Administration or related field.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to details. Reliable transportation and valid driver license preferred.
Must be punctual, professional, and flexible in assisting in tasks outside of those listed above based on need.
Two years of development/fundraising experience, grants writing, and event planning for a non-profit preferred. Strong organizational skills to plan, implement, and administer fundraising events and programs. Ability to problem solve during events. Self-starter, routinely takes initiative. Spanish fluency and literacy desirable. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint necessary; experience in Adobe Creative Suite and CRMs Bloomerang.
Salary: $55000 Annual Salary.
