Detailed Position Description: The Donor Experience Event Coordinator acts independently as the lead organizer for all cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising events at the Wexner Center for the Arts. Events must be planned and executed with a high level of consistency and excellence. A keen eye for detail, ability to juggle competing priorities, high energy level, and experience handling moments of crisis during events are keys to success in this fast-paced role. The Donor Experience Event Manager demonstrates best-in-class standards when planning and executing WCA events, advising and supporting event-planning colleagues across campus. The Wexner Center for the Arts development team is a group of passionate individuals who bring creativity and fun to work every day. The Donor Experience Event Manager should bring more of that passion, a tried-and-true customer service skill set, and a collaborative nature.

70% – Planning and Executing Events

Serves as the lead organizer and central contact for all things related to development/special events and follow-up initiatives to ensure ROI. In partnership with the Director of Donor Relations, they will strategically establish event goals, determine event platforms (in-person/virtual), and be responsible for the overall design/experience to match the priorities of assigned WCA events. In addition, they will manage all logistics and timelines, ensuring the highest level of customer service and attention to detail at every step of the planning process, making recommendations regarding event calendars and cadences. Implementing proper protocols for high-level guests and dignitaries is of the highest importance. Finally, they will assist in preparing budgets and ensuring expenditures are within the scope of their assigned WCA events.

20% – Building Partnerships

Convenes and continually communicates with various departments during planning phases; this includes an active partnership with the Visitor Experience Manager – Events and the Events Coordinators. Initiates and maintains relationships with multiple partners around campus to keep communication lines open and maximize efficiencies; manages all event volunteers. Researches and negotiates contracts with outside vendors for goods/services.

10% – Event follow-up and other duties as assigned.

Desired Experience and Skills: Full-time schedule is 40 hours per week. Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and possible holidays as needed; use of personal vehicle may be required (mileage reimbursed). Successful completion of background check prior to start date required.

In accordance with the Disaster Preparedness and University State of Emergency Policy 6.17, this position has been designated as a standby (not required to report to work) position; requires successful completion of background check.
