SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Project Manager, Temporary & Touring Exhibitions oversees the scheduling and implementation of temporary exhibitions hosted by the Museum of Science and the national and international tours of exhibitions created and owned by the Museum of Science. Working closely with the Manager, Exhibit Operations & Services, they will arrange and approve installation and travel schedules, maintenance plans, marketing materials, and related programming for temporary and traveling projects. They serve as the primary point of contact for both external partners and internal stakeholders, effectively communicating the schedules and needs of any temporary and touring exhibits projects to secure contracts, share information with departments across host institutions and within the Museum, and manage logistics and schedules for installation and strike of exhibitions. They also play a critical role managing the timeline, budget, and project teams for the ongoing implementation of temporary and touring exhibitions developed and rented by the Museum of Science and for other select exhibit projects as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as point of contact for 2 – 6 touring and temporary exhibition projects each year.
- Manages project budgets that range from $5,000 to $3,000,000.
- Coordinates the work of 5 – 15 individuals from members of various departments and divisions.
- Creates, tracks, and modifies project timelines that range from 6 months to 3 years.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 2 to 4 times per year.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This position is grant-funded, full-time, Monday-Friday, 40 hrs/week

Manager, Exhibit Operations & Services
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 or more years of project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing schedules, deliverables, and contracts.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing budgets
- Demonstrated experience working with internal project teams, external partners, or contractors.
- Demonstrated experience developing timelines
- Demonstrated experience using EXCEL or other spreadsheet software
STARTING SALARY:
Exempt (Salaried). $59,000 – $64,000 / year
