Description:
The Digital Content Manager oversees the development and implementation of content strategies for the Museum’s website, whitney.org, which is the Museum’s hub for informing, educating, and engaging its digital and visiting audiences. The role is managerial and editorial in nature; at the same time, the role supports the Museum’s overarching brand communications strategy by developing and implementing both editorial and brand content for whitney.org and a synergistic network of digital channels. As the lead liaison with Museum stakeholders, the role requires exceptional project management, storytelling, editorial, and writing skills.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- With the Chief Communications & Content Officer (CCCO) and Assistant Director, Digital Content, set strategy for whitney.org, aligned with the overall digital content strategy and in support of the Museum’s brand communications strategy
- Collaborate with Digital Content colleagues to create omni-channel digital strategies and content across the Museum’s digital platforms
- Project manage digital initiatives, including developing project briefs, setting budgets and timelines, and managing rights clearances
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent. 5 – 7+ years professional experience in digital content management or production, ideally for museums or cultural institutions.
