Description
Tudor Place Historic House & Garden is seeking qualified applicants for its education internship program. The program is designed to provide research opportunities and practical, hands-on experience to students pursuing a degree in museum studies, museum education, American history, public history, art history, architectural history, library science or archival studies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day responsibilities of two educational summer day camps
- Develop materials for summer family programs
- Assist with logistics of private and public programs, including Girl Scout programs, homeschool programming, and youth and adult programming
- Lead private and public tours of the house and garden as possible
- Attend training sessions and ongoing program meetings as scheduled
- Perform administrative tasks as needed

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Enrollment in a relevant graduate-level degree program; strong undergraduate applicants may be considered as well
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strength, dexterity and mobility to perform all duties
- Prior experience working with educational programs and special events a plus
- Prior experience leading tours, or otherwise possess public speaking skills
Logistics:
- 20 – 25 hours/week; total number of hours dependent on credit requirements of the student’s academic institution if credit is being sought for the internship
- Approximate dates of internship are June through August 2022
- Times may vary; available hours are Tuesday through Saturday, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
- Work will primarily be in person at Tudor Place, although some allowances may be made for remote work as necessary
