GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world’s finest museums, seeks an intelligent, talented, innovative, and experienced resource to manage the design, development, and maintenance of our transactional website. This employee, as part of a dynamic department, will oversee e-commerce strategies to drive online revenues and audience growth, including being an advocate and main point person for transactions on the web.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Work with an outside vendor (Adage) and internal stakeholders on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the ACE (Arts, Culture, and Entertainment) platform for web transactions

• Continually work to enhance options and ease of ticket purchase experience, consulting with the development team to resolve usability issues

• Modify a web-based application based on user requests

• Develop, implement, and record procedures for ongoing web site revision

• Develop web site performance metrics, monitor usage data, and implement and edit tracking pixels and other marketing technology on the website

• Record installation or configuration procedures to allow maintenance and repetition

• Collect, study, or record user feedback to locate or resolve sources of problems

• Identify, normalize, and transmit levels of access and security

• Identify and implement updates, upgrades, and patches in a timely manner to limit loss of service

• Accomplish user testing or usage analysis to determine web sites’ effectiveness or usability.

• Supply training or technical assistance in web site implementation or use

• Endorse web site improvements,

• Reassess or revise web page content or links in a timely manner, using appropriate tools

• Verify and work to implement new software packages for use in web operations or other applications.

• Examine and scrutinize operating system or application log files regularly to verify proper system performance

• Identify sources of web page or server problems, and take action to correct such problems

• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Fully vaccinated with an FDA or WHO authorized vaccine (or approved for an exemption as a reasonable accommodation due to a disability, sincerely held religious belief, or pregnancy, or because you are a victim of domestic violence, stalking, or sex offenses).

Experience and Skills:

• Experience working in a collaborative environment

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, flexible mindset

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Proven ability to track multiple initiatives, analyze results and adjust work flows accordingly

• Experience with common .NET developer tools

• Strong knowledge of web technologies, protocols, standards, and tools

• Understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies

• Understanding of Google Analytics and other commonly used metrics dashboards

• Hands-on experience modifying web applications. Experience editing web layouts using HTML/CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and C#/Razor. Working knowledge of .NET application development.

• Content generation and web publishing using a CMS (Umbraco preferred), occasionally using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to edit content while adhering to (accessibility and) design principles • Experience with Visual Studio a plus.

• Experience in production management, web page design, HTML and web graphics types/standards

• Strong knowledge of and commitment to UX and design best practices

• Experience overseeing content management systems

• Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards

• Experience w/ SCRUM, Kanban, JIRA, etc. a plus

• Experience with Visual Studio a plus.

• Experience with Tessitura (or a similar CRM software) and knowledge of working with a REST API a plus

Knowledge and Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher required.
