Job Title: Development Assistant

Salary: $40,000-$42,000

Description

The Morgan Library & Museum invites applications for the position of Development Assistant. Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving the Development Assistant is responsible for all administrative tasks as related to the areas of Individual and Planned Giving, including solicitations for the Association of Fellows and Director’s Roundtable, the Annual Fund, the 1924 Society, and the processing of gifts given for all of the previously mentioned areas as well as Visiting and Collectors Committee dues and gifts for acquisitions. The position will provide administrative support for the Director of Individual Giving; help execute the development efforts primarily as it relates to Individual and Planned Giving and assist with the management of the renewal process, donor tours and events, email communications, including an e-newsletter for the Director’s Roundtable and Association of Fellows membership groups. The Development Assistant will also maintain the Raiser’s Edge database as it relates to processing gifts; tracking prospects; managing preparation for events and donor meetings; and generating appeals and acknowledgements.

Qualifications:

-B.A. Degree; interest in the arts and humanities preferred

-Experience working in a museum, arts organization, or other nonprofit preferred.

-Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with keen attention to details

-Excellent organizational and time-management skills; a self-directed team player Donor database experience; Raiser’s Edge experience preferred

-Confidentiality and diplomacy; strong interpersonal skills with an understanding of customer service

-Design skills including Adobe InDesign and/or Photoshop preferred

-Familiarity with e-mail layout and design preferred

-Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, particularly Word and Excel

-Effective oral communication skills

-Highly-developed writing skills

-Evening and some weekend hours are necessary

Compensation: $40,000 – $42,000, commensurate with experience; excellent benefits.
