The Exhibition Project Manager will report to the Director of Exhibition Planning and will facilitate and project manage all aspects of an assigned portfolio of changing exhibitions, collections based installations, rotations and other special projects from the point of their approval by the Executive Team, through concept development, final interpretive and design development, implementation, de-installation and a summative evaluation process.

Leading individual project teams for each of their assigned projects, responsibilities shall include: detailed project scheduling (near and long range), managing each project to schedule and approved working budget; coordinating and facilitating cross departmental planning and logistics meetings; developing and tracking budgets; assisting with drafting and negotiating contracts; establishing and streamlining workflows and internal communications; monitoring and enforcing deadlines.

Requirements

Experience and Abilities:

A minimum of two years of experience in planning, prioritizing, scheduling and implementing projects required preferably in a museum setting; experience simultaneously overseeing a variety of projects.

Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects concurrently, each at different stages of development.

Demonstrated organizational and project management skills; experience in cross-departmental collaboration and managing and motivating project teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with Word, Excel, project
management software and the Museum’s database.

Local, national and international network in the changing exhibition arena a plus.

Knowledge of the arts locally, nationally and internationally a plus.

Motivated team player with experience in leading teams in the development of exhibitions of scale and complexity from start to finish.

BA preferably in Art History, Museum Studies or related program or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
