Project Coordinator at CITYarts

CITYarts is a 31-year old nonprofit public art organization that engages youth led by professional artists in the creative process of producing public murals and mosaic that impact their lives and transform our communities.

We are looking for a passionate, hard-working, committed, detail-oriented and enthusiastic Project Coordinator with a sense of understanding commitment to youth and the arts. A great fit would be someone who takes initiative with a collaborative mindset, has great planning and organizational skills, and knowledge of artists, art materials, and public art. The candidate must be a capable self-starter who works well as an individual, accepts directions, and works well in a team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience, preferably in the non-profit sector
  • Management experience preferred
  • Good writing and analytical skills, extra attention to detail
  • Understanding of the nonprofit sector and philanthropy
  • Experience with a variety of software programs, including Excel, Word processing, and database applications, proficient with Mac and PC
  • Good interpersonal, verbal communication, and written communication skills, including a desire to learn and the ability to be flexible and proactive
  • Prior work with children and sensitivity to youth issues
  • Prior experience working with budgets

DUTIES

  • Coordinate logistics for site programming, special events, and exhibitions
  • Identify and manage outreach to community, schools, youth and senior programs
  • Act as liaison between CITYarts and collaborating artists, volunteers, community organizations, and community members
  • Manage contract process with artists and collaborators
  • Update social media content
  • Prepare media blasts (experience with Constant Contact and Salesforce is a plus)
  • Write press releases and conduct press outreach
  • Recruit and oversee CITYarts’ interns, delegating tasks and managing schedules
  • Provide general administrative support as necessary

  • Starting salary $36-40K
  • 2 weeks (10 working days) accrued vacation
