The Jewish Museum:
Founded in 1904 and located on New York City’s Museum Mile, the Jewish Museum is a museum at the intersection of art and Jewish culture for people of all backgrounds. The Museum maintains a unique collection of nearly 30,000 works of art, ceremonial objects, and media reflecting the global Jewish experience over more than 4,000 years. The Museum applies a contemporary lens to its exhibitions, which range from ancient to contemporary art.
The Position:
The intern will assist with projects that relate to film and television projects at The Jewish Museum, including TELEVISION AND BEYOND, which presents a rotating selection of television clips in the Museum’s Collection Display.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with preparations for Television and Beyond
- Assist with assessing and organizing materials related to the Broadcast Archive
- Assist with wrap-up from the January 2020 New York Jewish Film Festival, and pre-planning for the 2021 edition.
Requirements:
- B.A or M.A. in Film Studies, Media Archiving or Preservation, Museum Studies, or an arts-related field
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Enthusiasm for film and media; familiarity with museums.
