Call for Volunteers interested in Architecture, Design and NYC History: Open House New York Weekend Oct. 18-20
Want to immerse yourself in architecture, design, and New York City history? Open House New York invites you to join our team of over 1,000 volunteers to participate in OHNY Weekend, the city’s largest annual architecture and design festival!
WHERE does this event take place?
Over the course of one weekend each October, OHNY opens up hundreds of sites across New York City’s five boroughs, ranging from historic homes to cutting edge infrastructure, with talks by architects and other design professionals.
HOW can I be a part of the OHNY Weekend?
Year after year, our volunteers guarantee the success of the OHNY Weekend. You can sign up to volunteer for a shift
(typically 4 hours) on either, Friday, October 18, Saturday, October 19 or Sunday, October 20.
WHAT will my role be?
As a volunteer, you will staff one of the many extraordinary sites and tours, welcoming visitors from New York and around the world, assisting with check-in, managing lines, and helping to make this the best OHNY Weekend ever! WHAT are the benefits of volunteering? You will get behind-the-scenes access to some of New York’s most architecturally and culturally important sites. You will also receive a Volunteer Passport that gives you and a friend front-of-the-line access to all non-reservation sites during OHNY Weekend, as well as a limited edition OHNY T-Shirt.
WHO organizes OHNY Weekend?
OHNY Weekend is organized by Open House New York, a 501(c)3 non- profit organization that presents an active schedule of events about architecture, design, and planning throughout the year. For more information, visit www.ohny.org.
HOW do I register to volunteer for OHNY Weekend?
Go to the link below to register today! Spread the word, double the enjoyment, and ask a friend to volunteer with you. All volunteers are required to attend a training session (approx. 1.5 hours) on either October 3, 5, or 10. Registration closes on September 13.
