Exhibit Coordinator (Part-time) – Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect
The Exhibit Coordinator reports to the Director of Education and is responsible for (a) promoting and securing sites for traveling exhibits, (b) providing docent training and tech support, and (c) assisting with the development of exhibitions that help support our educational mission. The position requires a proven track record of creativity, enthusiasm, and professionalism, with a demonstrated passion for education, history, diversity, social justice, and/or the arts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as liaison with museums, schools, and other community-based institutions, securing contracts for our traveling exhibitions and building relationships with potential partners
• Employ pro-active outreach efforts, assisting relevant staff in determining marketing strategies
• Work collaboratively with executive leadership and fellow education staff to help design and oversee production for new exhibits and updates to existing educational materials
• Understand and integrate a passion for diversity, compassion, and humanity into all exhibit messaging
• Help train docents and peer-to-peer youth guides through educational partner sites
• Provide technical support and training for exhibit setup both in-person and remotely through video
• Maintain accessible records and schedules of past, current, and prospective partnerships
• Collect and assist with coordination of data, documentation, feedback, and outreach efforts
• Produce accurate accountability reports and provide regular updates to partners, executive leadership, and the board of directors
• Assist with contractual negotiations and work with administrative staff to coordinate logistics such as shipping, production, storage, etc.
• Maintain professionalism, whether working independently or as member of a cohesive team
• Maintain familiarity with educational exhibit trends, integrating best practices as applicable
• Travel as needed across the country to help promote, set up, and assist education team in local venues
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors degree required, graduate degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with a museum and/or educational exhibit development
• Demonstrated technological competence with MS Office Suite, photography, and educational technology such as webinars
• Experience teaching at the k-12 level a plus
BENEFITS:
• Pay rate commensurate with experience
• Part-time (approximately 24-28 hours per week)
