2019 Summer Education & Public Programs Internship

In an effort to expand its offerings to the public, the Museum is seeking a summer intern to research and develop a new guided tour.
Responsibilities:
The intern will report to the Education & Public Programs Coordinator, and will research content and materials for a new guided tour of the Museum, focusing on George Washington. The intern will use this content to write a tour script that will be facilitated by Docents.
The internship will take place from June through August 2019, with flexible start and end dates. Interns must be able to commit to a schedule of 1 day per week, 10:00 am- 4:00 pm for the duration of the internship. The scheduled day is flexible. This internship provides a stipend.
Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in undergraduate/graduate studies (museum studies, history, education, or similar), or recently graduated.

Detail oriented, organized, and able to work independently.

Excellent communication and writing skills, experience with academic research.

Must be able to climb stairs.

Familiarity with Early American, Colonial American and Revolutionary War history a plus.
