The Assistant Director of Development will serve as an integral member of the Arts Development team and will work to build relationships with individuals, foundations, and corporations in order to increase private support for the mission and strategic priorities of Arts NC State. The Assistant Director is responsible for providing strategic planning and execution in the critical areas of Friends of the Gregg membership, annual giving, leadership annual giving, and mid-level corporate and foundation support. The Assistant Director will collaborate closely with other members of the development staff, arts faculty and staff, NC State advancement staff and volunteers in developing relationships with alumni, patrons and donors to secure private philanthropic support for the arts.

Arts NC State, housed within the Division of Academic and Student Affairs, is the collective organization for NC State University’s performing and visual arts programs. Our performing and visual arts programs are the Crafts Center, the Dance Program, the Department of Music, the Gregg Museum of Art & Design, NC State LIVE, and University Theatre. As an institution of higher learning, NC State University believes that art should be accessible, relevant, and transformative, and that experience with the arts is essential to the development of individuals who are better able to enjoy life and contribute to society.

In line with the overall mission of University Advancement at NC State University, the mission of the Office of Arts Development is to increase public awareness, endorsement and, most importantly, private financial support for Arts NC State in order to advance its mission and priorities. The department’s scope of fundraising varies from development communications to direct mail to major gift solicitation. We are donor-centered and focus on connecting individual areas of interest with the mission of Arts NC State.
