2019 Newark Museum Summer Internship Program
The Newark Museum Internship Program is designed to provide interns with an overview of the Museum industry at large and the Newark Museum specifically, as well as the museums’ partnership with the City of Newark. Internship opportunities are offered in all of its major departments including Curatorial, Registrar, Education, Marketing/Public Relations, Exhibition Design, and Library.
In addition to working within a museum department, students take part in a more expanded orientation process, learning in-depth about museum careers, as well as other art, science and education opportunities at institutions in the city of Newark and throughout the state. Applicants of all educational and career backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
During the summer a limited number of internships are awarded to students who are entering their second year of college. Interns work on an array of projects and depending on academic training, experience and stated interest, are assigned to a specific staff member, or in some cases, to a department at large.
