Project: Work on forthcoming “Lorraine O’Grady” retrospective and other upcoming exhibitions
Dates: June-August, 3 days a week (Monday-Friday)

The Queens Museum, Flushing, NY
Project: Research, writing, and administrative responsibilities for a forthcoming “Hip Hop” exhibition
exploring its historic origins in the borough of Queens, through art, fashion,
oral histories, documentary video, and photography (Fall 2020)
Dates: June 17- August 12 (Revised)

The Museum at F.I.T. , New York, NY
Project: Collections management projects in the Costume and Accessories Departments
at the Museum at F.I.T. (Fashion Institute of Technology) and
conduct curatorial research on “Food and Fashion”
Dates: June 17 – August 9

Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia, PA
Project: Develop interpretive and interactive projects and programming for
“Beyond the Horizon: Design for Different Futures” (Fall 2019)
Dates: June – August (flexible)

Morgan Library & Museum, New York
Project: Conduct and organize research in preparation for a forthcoming collection-based photography
exhibition concerning specific stages and facets of the creative process of the medium
Dates: June 1 – July 31

 

Eligibility: Applicants must be:

  • female students enrolled in a graduate program in the visual arts
  • from a racial/cultural/ethnic background underrepresented in the field 
  • seeking career opportunities in the visual arts professions
  • have U.S. citizenship, permanent resident status, and/or a current student visa
  • be able to commit to 8-consecutive week period specified by each institution
  • currently enrolled in a program and/or have graduated within the past six months

Stipend: $3,000
