Job – Events Assistant – NYU ISAW – Sept. 13

Hi Fellow Museum Studies Students,

I work at NYU’s Institute for the Study of the Ancient World (ISAW) and we are currently hiring an Events Assistant to help run our public programs. This would be a good opportunity for someone interested in development and/or event management within cultural institutions. The position supports the administrative staff at evening events including: 
– Managing guest lists and check-in processes
– Overseeing event flow, including seating and waitlists
– Fielding questions about ISAW, demonstrating a knowledge of ISAW’s events, exhibitions, and Friends (membership) program
– Promoting ISAW at events, including displaying promotional materials and encouraging guests to join mailing lists, etc
– Arranging hors d’oeuvres and wine for post-lecture evening receptions
– Conducting light clean-up after events and managing the inventory of kitchen event supplies
– Assisting with A/V equipment in the Lecture Hall
