Museum Studies Internships (4) at Villa La Pietra 2018 – Dec. 13

Dear Rosanna,

We are happy to confirm the offer of four internship positions at Villa La Pietra for summer 2018: we will select three students to be assigned to the collection department and one to assist with The Season of cultural events and performances, organized during the summer. All students will learn about the history of Villa La Pietra and its  collections; they will also have the opportunity to interact with other students and alumni of the NYU program, with conservators and conservation students and faculty from the Institute of Fine Arts, as well as with the staff, and the general public visiting the Villa and/or attending the events. Ellyn has added a third project for the collection, related to the Acton guest book. This internship will be carried out under the supervision of myself with Scott Palmer, Coordinator of Instructional Technology and Digital Initiatives. All four internship positions are offered for the late spring and early summer (see dates in the description).

Once the selection has  been made, Elisabetta Clementi, copied on this message will transfer funds to Museum Studies Program to administer to the student interns.  Sabrina Melillo (also cc’d here) will need to be contacted by the selected interns for immigration purposes.

All applications with curriculum vitae and cover letter with clear motivation should be sent to me no later than January 19, 2018.

We can organize a Skype call in January, if we want to share evaluations before final selection.

Please do not hesitate to contact me (collection) or Cristina (The Season) with any question you might have about the projects.

See attached description (3 pages) of the positions/projects.
