My name is Emily Stewart and I am the Associate Manager of Education at Aperture Foundation, a multi-platform, non-profit photography organization that publishes photobooks and a quarterly magazine, teaches visual literacy to kids in NYC, and hosts exhibitions, workshops and lectures. At Aperture, we offer internship opportunities for motivated individuals who are eager to enter the photography and publishing communities. We are currently seeking applicants for the Spring 2018 term (January start date) who have an interest in arts administration and would benefit from working in our development department. Two positions are currently available: Special Events & Membership, and Institutional Funding. The Institutional Funding Work Scholar assists with the research, preparation, and coordination of materials for grant proposals and reports. The Special Events & Membership Work Scholar assists the development staff in all aspects of fundraising, including research, data management, donor cultivation, and direct-mail appeals. Additionally, the Stevan A. Baron Work Scholar Program provides interns with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the photographic community through hands-on professional experience, as well as enrichment activities such as lunch with Aperture’s various departments and field trips to museums and galleries.
