#7TrainStop is an initiative that began in early September of 2015. It is focused on addressing transnational terrorism and radicalization, and adding their collective insight to the chorus of voices concerned with ending the scourge of radical violence. Founded on the principle that curbing violent extremism begins at home in the local communities, #7TrainStop have chosen to highlight the NYC borough of Queens as an example of community integration. The most ethnically and religiously diverse urban area in the world, Queens is home to over two million residents. With a demographic consisting of locals, nationals, and immigrants from more than 100 countries, the stories of its communities can be told in over 136 languages. The initiative presents the people of Queens and their stories, portraying the ethnic, racial and religious tensions, but also how the to overcome them.
