Attendance:
Attendance to class is required. Two unexcused absences will lower the final grade by one letter. Each additional absence will decrement the grade an additional letter. Students are expected to attend class on time. Lateness in excess of twenty minutes will be considered an absence.
Absences:
Should illness require you to miss a class, send me a note alerting me to your absence before class meets, and provide a valid letter from your doctor excusing you from the missed class the next time you are in class. If you have a recurring or otherwise serious issue going on, please get in touch with your advisor or the Office of Student Affairs for direction.
The University Calendar Policy on Religious Holidays contains the NYU policy and principles which this class will follow regarding absence without penalty when required for compliance with religious obligations.
EXCEPTIONS:
Life happens to us all. Should something outside of your control occur which causes you to be late or to miss class, let me know as soon as possible.
You are responsible for the work that you missed and should find out what was covered through a classmate.
Accessibility, Health, Safety:
Students who may require an academic accommodation due to a qualified disability, physical or mental, should register with the Henry and Lucy Moses Center for Students with Disabilities (212-998-4980).
Your health and safety are a priority at New York University. If you experience any health or mental health issues during this course, we encourage you to utilize the support services of the 24/7 NYU Wellness Exchange (212-443-9999).
Detailed safety considerations are amplified in the production guidelines page.
That being said, if you ever have second thoughts about whether an action is safe, “ok to do,” or “right,” listen to that voice and do not do it. You are here to develop, grow, and learn: not to be injured in any way or on any level.
