How to Get Through a 2.5 Hour Lecture

by Anna Whitescarver

Bored in a lecture? Been there, done that. Those once-a-week, double-as-long, boring mofo classes really blow chunks, huh? I actually have learned to love these classes; I enjoy only going to class once a week and I LOVE doing stuff on my computer. Boy do I love my computer! Here are things I do during my loooonnnngggg classes that you can do to:

  • Update your Chrome browser, when else are you going to?
  • Text Grandma
  • Go through that notes app, you’ll find some goodies
  • Pull together a really good birthday list
  • Check out your photobooth!
  • Make a list of movies you want to watch
  • Go to Brightspace, then to your class pages. Then in the top bar go to “More Tools” and then “Classlist.” Look up everyone in your class on Instagram. Airplay to the classroom and show ‘em who’s boss.
  • Go pee. Explore:)
  • Drink as much water as you can, as fast as you can. Spill if needed.
  • Stare at someone across the room until they notice.
  • Respond to that one email
  • Can you fit your fist in your mouth? I can’t!
  • Games for girls.com
  • Google your teacher
  • Slide wayyyyyyyyy down in that lecture seat. How low can you go?
  • Bring a needle, thread, and that pair of socks you’ve been meaning to mend. Take care of business.
