Newsletter 2/22/22

Here at the Greene Street Review, we spent another would-be nuclear week parsing through your lovely submissions, dear readers. Please keep ‘em coming! And don’t forget the angelic deadline is today, 2/22/22  ପ(๑•ᴗ•๑)ଓ ♡

(But also this reminder is coming out right before that deadline so if you take an extra day or two you won’t be penalized <3)

Remember, in only 500 words or less, you could send us your idea for an essay, review, interview, or anything you might be interested in writing about to greenestreetreview@nyu.edu.  Stay tuned on the deadline for extended pieces…

In other news, there’s a new Sheila Haita book to deter you from crumpling global relations, one where she “perverts or expands the nature of the father-daughter relationship (his spirit is said to be “ejaculated” into her after his death).” The Bookforum review reassures even the dubious: “But there is much more to this novel than daddy issues, including art criticism, the narcissism of large differences, the end of the world, and Manet.”

In other end-of-times dispatches, Apocalypse Now director and wine connoisseur, Francis Ford Coppola, reportedly dunked $120 million to fund his new film, “Megalopolis,” sourcing funds from his iconoclastic wine collection. Speaking of the film slated to star everyone’s favorite addict, Zendaya, he said he “couldn’t care less about the financial impact whatsoever,” and is more focused on exploring the possibility of building a utopian society in a Neo-New York fused with the Roman glory of old.

Finally, in an effort for you, dear reader, to get to know more about the Green Street Review team we pooled the following questions below. Oh, and if you have nothing better to do, don’t forget to subscribe here to receive our weekly newsletter, or see here for our website https://wp.nyu.edu/greenestreetreview, and finally here for our Instagram. Now to the poll, before the next vibe shift consumes another out-of-touch millennial writer who dooms us all (click on the question to answer the poll; answers revealed next newsletter!):

    Is Queen Elizabeth dead already?

Do you believe in angel numbers?

Does Bladee know something that nobody else does?

Signed Sincerely,
