In The Mahabharata | In Your Version | |
Setting (where are the characters, what are they doing, where were they before the scene started / where will they be after it ends?) | Leaving from Indraprastha and heading back to Hastinapura on the chariot . | They were traveling in a Tesla coming from Queens going to Brooklyn. They came from a luxurious housewarming party. |
Characters (who are they, what’s their gender, what are they wearing, what are they like?) | Duryodhana (prince) and Sakuni (the uncle).
Duryodhana (jealous and childish), Sakuni (peaceful and older/ wiser). Sakuni is Duryodhana’s uncle. |
Duryodhana (male), Sakuni (male) They are the same age and Duryodhana is jealous of the Pandus’s new house. Sakuni is more peaceful. They’re both wearing jeans and Vans. |
Want/need (what do the characters want or need in this scene? Why?) | Duryodhana wants revenge on the Pandus and is jealous of them because of how successful they have been. Sakuni does not want to challenge the Pandus and go to war because he knows that they are powerful and have many allies. Sakuni wants to leave the Pandus alone. | Duryodhana is jealous of the Pandus’s new, fancy house because Duryodhana’s house is old. Sakuni tells Duryodhana, “Nah, fam, relax , let them be.” But Duryodhana still doesn’t want that; he wants to do something evil to their house. |
Action (What is happening?) | After seeing that Indraprastha looked better than Hastinapura, Duryodhana was even more eager to destroy the Pandus. | After seeing the Pandus house and how good it is, Duryodhana gets more jealous and wants to do something sinister to them. |
Resolution (How is the scene resolved?) | The resolution would be that Duryodhana challenges the eldest brother of the Pandus to a dice of game instead of a war. | At the end, Sakuni convinces him to chill and instead share gifts as a way to not cause drama. |
