"My poem is on the theme of toxic masculinity and how it leads men to not be able to speak up for a woman when she’s in distress and when she’s been taken advantage of. This is an ancient text, but women today all over the world, and even in the society we live in, are still being taken advantage of in different ways. The poem gives insight to what women go through. The “endless robe” part in my poem shows a metaphor of a freedom that will never be taken again and that she will never be stripped of her power again."
I’ve been discarded and scared as a women
Five husband Five husbands Five husbands
Nobody thought of it as wrong
Nobody would stand up for me
So I will call upon the gods to save me
Five husband Five husbands Five husbands
Five foolish men with no morals
No respect nothing is good of them
Five husbands Five Husbands Five Husbands
They all showed me they’re scared
Appear as heroes but have no true masculinity
They Gambled me away without a thought
I asked the gods why why why
I cried out to the gods to save me
And they did again
Gave me an endless robe
Longer than a road
Five husbands Five husbands Five husbands
NO Freedom
I’m owned
I’m a women
NO freedom
In a world with men
with no soul
They lack courage to speak up from all that they show
But the gods will save me for all that I know
I will cry out save me from these men
Set me be free from my Five husbands
Five husbands Five husbands Five husbands
