Concurrently, she worked with Dr. Lawrence Yang as the former manager of the Culture Stigma Psychosis Lab on NIH/NIMH R01 projects, researching cultural variations in stigma, how stigma acts to impede social recovery and influence health outcomes (e.g., schizophrenia, opioid use disorder, HIV, cancer), and culturally-responsive interventions. She is particularly interested in the role of stigma in co-occurring psychiatric disorders, substance use disorders, and chronic pain.
