Join the Climate Museum for a panel discussion examining Sarah Cameron Sunde’s 36.5 / A Durational Performance with the Sea (2013-present). In this site-specific, iterative series of participatory artworks, the artist invites community members to join her as she stands in ocean water for a full tidal cycle of 12-13 hours, as water engulfs her body and then recedes. The discussion will explore sea level rise, our relationships with water, climate justice, and advocacy in NYC. Featuring Sarah Cameron Sunde, artist; Sonali McDermid, Associate Professor of Environmental Studies at NYU; Idea Reid, college student and waterfront/climate justice advocate; and moderated by Anais Reyes, Senior Exhibitions Associate at the Climate Museum. The panel will be followed by live Q&A. Co-presented with NYU Gallatin WetLab.
