Gallatin Orientation Week 2018

Below, you will find an overview of the key events of Gallatin’s Orientation Week, which will take place during the week before the start of Fall 2018 classes. These events, intended specifically and exclusively for incoming Gallatin first-year students, have been scheduled to ensure you are also able to attend all-NYU Welcome Week sessions and festivities. Please note that your attendance at Orientation events is required.

Monday, August 27

9am – 10:45am  Parents Orientation (Jerry H. Labowitz Theatre for the Performing Arts, 1 Washington Place)

11:30am – 12pm  First Year Students Check-in (Gallatin Lobby, 1 Washington Place)

12pm – 1pm  First Year Student Welcome (Jerry H. Labowitz Theatre for the Performing Arts, 1 Washington Place)

3pm  Presidential Welcome (Barclay’s Center, Brooklyn, NY)

Tuesday, August 28

10am – 11:30am  First-Year Advising Session (Jerry H. Labowitz Theatre for the Performing Arts, 1 Washington Place)

12:30pm – 2pm  Lunch with Orientation Groups

2:15pm – 4:30pm   Interest Workshops (Various locations, 1 Washington Place) [There will be two back-to-back sessions, dedicated to specific academic interests and how each might be pursues at Gallatin; students are welcome and encouraged to attend multiple sessions]

Wednesday, August 29

10am – 12:15pm  Convocation (Jerry H. Labowitz Theatre for the Performing Arts, 1 Washington Place)

12:15pm – 1:15pm  Convocation Discussion Groups + Lunch (Various locations, 1 Washington Place and Tisch Hall)

2pm – 4:30pm  Gallatin Goes: Central Park

Thursday, August 30

11am – 1pm  Gallatin Resource Workshops (Various locations, 1 Washington Place) [There will be two back-to-back sessions, dedicated to specific resources and sources of support available at Gallatin and at NYU; students are welcome and encouraged to attend multiple sessions]

1pm – 2pm  Lunch with Orientation Groups

2pm – 5pm  Group Outings

11:30am – 1pm  Welcome to Gallatin Brunch Party (Jerry H. Labowitz Theatre for the Performing Arts, 1 Washington Place)
