Description of Internship: The Case Manager is an integral member of Sanctuary for Families’ Anti-Trafficking Initiative, which is one of the nation’s leading service providers for immigrant victims of human trafficking and gender based violence in the country. In addition to legal services, ATI provides its clients with a wide range of social, case management, and advocacy services. ATI’s direct representation of and advocacy on behalf of clients inspires initiatives to improve of the legal rights of and protections available to its immigrant victim clients. We are looking for an intern for the summer of 2019 for case management. The intern will assist the case manager and supervising social worker in the Anti-Trafficking Initiative in identifying and assisting victims of human trafficking, specifically Chinese women. The intern will also work in the human trafficking intervention court to assist people who are at risk of human trafficking. Duties include: Making referrals for shelter, counseling, medical needs and other immediate needs Assisting clients to find housing, employment, and schooling. Collaborating with Sanctuary for Families attorneys and working with attorneys in the Human Trafficking Intervention Court Requesting and providing financial assistance for client needs Meeting with clients regularly Performing all other administrative tasks as needed.
