CONNECTING FROM A QUARANTINE KITCHEN represents Jacquie Ottman’s personal experience and insights into cooking while sheltering in place during the first sixty days of the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020. On a mission to reduce waste since childhood, Ottman used her time experimenting with recipes for transforming leftovers into new meals, as part of her research for a book. During the process, she learned how to appreciate food in all of its glory — as a way to connect with others in person and virtually, as a creative outlet, and a source of joy.
