In addition to providing day-to-day consultations, development support, and workshops, the FAS Office of Educational Technology offers modest grants to recognize and inspire innovative teaching with technology practices. This offering is in line with several strategic goals, including increasing the number of technology-enhanced learning opportunities; creating opportunities for collaborative, applied, and interdisciplinary teaching and learning; and supporting experimentation and innovative pedagogical practices.
Examples of innovative teaching practices include
- Creating interactive & blended learning modules to free up class time or provide self-paced learning opportunities for students;
- Launching a linked course to bridge global sites;
- Integrating a multimedia, programming, or visualization project into your course to increase active learning; or
- Designing new ways to assess student learning outcomes.
