“Proud New Yorker” Outdoor Mural
June 15 - August 31
NYU Faculty Housing Happenings proudly presents New York based artist Nolan Grünwald‘s outdoor painting “Proud New Yorker” featuring vivid chromatics and fantastical imagery radiant in positivity. The mural is viewable along the southern border fence of The Backyard, near 3 Washington Square Village, off of Bleecker Street near the corner of LaGuardia Place in Greenwich Village.
The project honors the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, a period of sustained community activism that ushered in the modern LGBTQ+ movement that has shaped the downtown cultural map ever since.
