GETTING STARTED

Welcome to the Collaborative Arts & Open Arts Faculty Resource page! Here, you will find everything you might need in your capacity as an adjunct or full-time faculty member within our program. This site includes detailed information on navigating our spaces, operating NYU’s grading and registration tools, and a variety of other supports offered by the University.

If you are new to the program, please follow these steps to integrate yourself into the NYU system:

  1. Fill out all HR paperwork.
  2. Use NYU Start to set up your NYU NetID and password. You may also set up a personalized email address. Set up mail forwarding to a personal email if needed.
  3. See NYU’s guidance re: Covid-19 vaccination information.
  4. Get an NYU ID card, which you’ll need to present at NYU buildings.
  5. Download Duo Mobile, NYU Mobile, and Safe NYU. You will need Duo Mobile for NYU’s multi-factor authentication process.
  6. Familiarize yourself with your class roster and academic engagement roster. You could have both a COART-UT section (where Collaborative Arts BFA majors enroll) and an OART-UT section (where Open Arts nonmajor students enroll).
  7. Create a Brightspace site (not required, but nice to have if you know you’ll use it). Brightspace is NYU’s Learning Management System (LMS). If you choose to share your syllabus or course materials via Google Drive or email, that’s fine – but be mindful of sharing sensitive information over these two platforms.
  8. Send our office a copy of your syllabus! Follow the template, and make sure the 6 required paragraphs (page 8) are in your syllabus. See here for a list of dates for your week-by-week breakdown.
  9. Send us your bio and headshot.
  10. Our office needs your emergency contact information on file.
  11. You now have direct access to book office hours and classrooms. Email tisch.collabarts@nyu.edu if you have any questions.
  12. Familiarize yourself with our Code of Conduct.
  13. Complete OEO 150: NYU Sexual Harassment Prevention Training within 30 days of being hired. Please allow up to 7 days from your start date to gain access to iLearn. Complete OEO 101: Preventing Discrimination and Harassment on Campus within 60 days of hire. Check out Tisch’s IDBEA training, to better understand issues of inclusion, diversity, belonging, equity, and accessibility.
