Maria I. Mera Collantes

Maria I. Mera Collantes is an alumnus of the EnSuRe group and is currently at Google working on next-gen hardware. She received her Ph. D in Electrical Engineering at NYU in 2020. She was previously a Fulbright Fellow at Stony Brook University where she received her M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 2014. Maria Isabel is interested in developing reliable and secure hardware platforms since they are a key building block in technology.
Zahra Ghodsi

Zahra Ghodsi completed her Ph.D. degree with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NYU Tandon in December 2020 and moved to the University of California San Diego as Post-Doc. She is a recipient of the AI Research Fellowship from J.P. Morgan, and the Ernst Weber Fellowship from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Her research interests include designing robust, secure, and private systems for machine learning.
Jeff (Jun) Zhang

Jeff (Jun) Zhang is an alumnus of the NYU EnSuRe research group and joined Harvard University as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Jeff received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from New York University in 2020, with the support of the Ernst Weber Fellowship. He received his B.Eng. and M.Eng. in Computer Engineering with Magna Cum Laude from Hunan University, China. He also has research internship experience with Samsung Semiconductor and Microsoft Research. Jeff’s general research interests are in deep learning, computer architecture, and EDA, with particular emphasis on energy-efficient and fault-tolerant design for deep learning systems and accelerators.
Kang Liu

Kang Liu obtained his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from New York University in May 2021. He was the recipient of the Ernst Weber Fellowship for his Ph.D.program. He received the MESc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, in 2015, from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. Before joining NYU, he was a software engineer in Evertz Microsystems Ltd., Burlington, Canada. His research interests include machine learning security and privacy.
Mohamed El Massad

Mohamed El Massad is an alumnus of the NYU EnSuRe research group and joined the University of Waterloo as a Postdoctoral Fellow. He has a Masters from the University of Waterloo. He works on problems in the security of computer hardware. He has received the ‘Best Presentation’ awards at SRC TECHCON 2016 and 2017.
