New NSF Project on using 5G wireless to remotely control robots

We are starting a new NSF funded project in collaboration with Profs. Ludovic Righetti, Sundeep Rangan and Elza Erkip  on “Action-perception loops over 5G millimeter wave wireless for cooperative manipulation” within the National Robotics Initiative Program. The project will investigate how 5G wireless communication can be used to offload computation-heavy action-perception loops to the cloud while ensuring robust and safe performance.

New Intel-NSF Award on Machine Learning for Wireless Networking Systems (MLWiNS)!

We are excited to announce a new NSF and Intel funded project on “Resource Constrained Mobile Data Analytics Assisted by the Wireless Edge.” This is a joint project with Prof. Elza Erkip and Prof. Yao Wang and will explore deep learning-based based methods to compress images for classification (as opposed to reconstruction) on a cloud server.
