Spreading of COVID-19 and its effects on the population are remarkably affected by the socio-economic conditions of cities, along with other urban determinants, such as the number of hospitals per capita.
In the new paper “Urban determinants of COVID-19 spread: A comparative study across three cities in New York State”, the team led by Prof. Porfiri compared COVID-19 spreading in three cities in New York State through high-resolution simulations, highlighting which urban features mostly affect the spread.
