According to the new study by postdoc Brandon Behring, Prof. Alessandro Rizzo, and Prof. Maurizio Porfiri, wearing masks and social distancing individually help contain the transmission of airborne pathogens like the COVID-19 virus, but combining both measures is much more effective. If at least 60% of the population complied to both measures, viral outbreaks would be prevented.
