Post 9: Answering Questions Pertaining to my Final Project
What is your research question or research problem?
My problem started with the surge of suicides in the United States and in my opinion the lack of initiation to not only address the issue but also find ways to mediate/remedy this horrible epidemic. I wanted to focus on one aspect that can contribute to suicide and fix the small things. My thought process was something along the lines of, I want to make a medical technology that helps with the suicide crisis. I understood that medical technology and science, in general, must be specific. As suicide and what leads to suicide can be pretty broad I thought about the medical aspect of what causes someone to commit suicide. From there I came to the conclusion that severe anxiety and depression are the precursors to suicide. And a precursor to severe anxiety and depression (one of many)
Why is this a significant, important, or relevant question or problem?
The significance of the problem is that mental health is something that effects many people, and it is very much under represented.
