Audience Interviews

Audience Interviews.

Before conducting your interviews, read this.

Your task is to find 5 individuals who match the audience (or audiences) you’re designing for. These interviews are a chance to test your assumptions. You want to understand what kinds of musical experiences potential users find appealing, the educational experiences they’re interested in, and the issues they encounter with current technologies. If your project involves different audiences, make sure to interview at least one person from each group. For example, if you’re designing a concert, your audiences could include the general public attending the event, the musicians performing, and the organization that owns the venue, among others.

Here’s what you need to do in your journal:

  1. Create a list of all the people you meet, along with their basic information and any notes that could be helpful for your research. For instance, you might jot down something like “Ana – Middle school music teacher, piano composer, uses iPad apps in her classroom.”
  2. Write down the questions you asked during the interviews and the answers you received.
  3. Share your conclusions for each group of interviewees.

Happy interviewing! 🎤🎶
