I am a recent graduate of the doctoral program in Communicative Sciences and Disorders at New York University and a speech-language pathologist. My dissertation, “The Role of Fatigue in the Aging Swallow” was completed in the Swallowing Research Lab under the mentorship of Dr. Sonja Molfenter. Within my current line of research, I am exploring the prevalence and mechanisms of fatigue during swallowing and mealtimes in older adults, the relationship between perceived fatigue and quantitative fatigue during swallowing, and potential consequences of swallowing-related fatigue on swallowing biomechanics and function in dysphagic and non-dysphagic adults.
