Reflection
For my final version, I mainly played around with the suggestions of my peers from the last session. The areas I covered most included the camera movement and a heightened difference in contrast between the inner and outer setting.
I made sure to make the inner planes brighter and added a warmer tone to them with yellows and oranges to best fit the atmosphere of the “homey” situation. From there, I deleted a few of the light sources I had that stimulated the outdoors scene, which darkened the setting even more. I think that the changes I made work really well to create a greater distinction between two different atmospheres.
From there, I also made sure to follow Dave’s advice and made the water below rise above the inner building overall. I think that this worked well and looked better as compared to the original. I did think that by the end, however, the scene looked too plain and dark. This is why I animated the inner scene to rise once again at the end of the animation in order to showcase the coexistence of both light and darkness during this time of the pandemic. I feel that it is symbolic in a way, especially how it represents the rising of our people and our hope even as we think of the future negative consequences of this virus.
For the camera movements, I deleted all the previous keyframes and started from scratch. I made sure not to rotate the camera much and implemented slower movements as well as a smaller amount of keyframes in order to minimize shakiness, which was definitely a large problem in my draft version. I left more space for the audience to maneuver the line of vision. I think that the overall version has improved immensely.
