Mission Statement

We are inhabitants on the land of the Indigenous peoples, on the land of the enslaved, and on the land where being progressive is a sinful act. Contrary to White Belief will focus on dismantling the political, economic, and social regime of our nation that is built upon the foundation of racism. Uncomfortable proximity will liberate truths concerning the racial narrative in this country; by prioritizing experiences of the past, this blog aims to uplift marginalized voices. Let us all commit to a forever of accountability and justice.

I want to make clear my stance on this blog. I am a Bengali woman. I only claim to understand the experiences I have gone through as a woman of color from Bangladesh that has immigrated to America. By no means do I assert that I can empathize with the experiences of Black, Hispanic, Latino, or any other historically marginalized group in America. My blog is strictly to amplify marginalized voices and experiences while hopefully inspiring others to do the same. Thank you.
