About

Contingencies: A Journal of Global Pedagogy

An open-access, peer-reviewed journal published under a Creative Commons license. Hosted by NYU Liberal Studies.

Mission

The mission of Contingencies is to provide a space for the humanistic discussion of new practical and theoretical models for curriculum, pedagogy, and interdisciplinarity in a global context.

Review Process

Contingencies uses a double-blind peer-review process. Initial reviews normally take two to three months. Reviewers are asked to provide specific feedback and determine which of the following categories best applies to the submission:

– Publishable as is
– Publishable with substantial revision
– Publishable with some revision
– Not publishable

If a reviewed submission is deemed publishable with either substantial or some revision by both reviewers, it will be returned, with feedback, to the submitter, who will then have one to two months to revise and resubmit. Authors resubmitting their work should walk reviewers through their revisions using margin comments/annotations and/or a narrative summary. Once the work is resubmitted, the reviewers will take an additional four to six weeks to arrive at their final verdict.
