Apollo x8 Audio Interface Guide

Underneath the computer is our audio interface, which is the Universal Audio Apollo x8 Gen 2

Each of the instruments in this room is routed to this interface, and is assigned a channel.

Press the monitor knob inwards to toggle the speakers between on or off. Red means the speakers are off. Green means they’re on.
The interface works in conjunction with a software called “UAD Console.” The software is a digital representation of the mixer interface.  Open “Console” from the taskbar to see which instruments are routed to each channel. Click here for a more detailed look at the software.
Each of the channels are labeled and correspond to an instrument in the studio. To use an electric guitar, or bass, plug in the instrument to the “HI-Z input” located on the front of the interface. Doing so will automatically route the instrument to channel one.
Use another electric guitar or bass simultaneously by plugging into the “Hi-Z 2” input. This will automatically route the instrument to channel two.  Plug the other end of the cable into the instrument you want to record.
Extra patch cables are located on the desk behind the Prophet Synthesizer.
