Coaching Practice and Support Groups

I’m currently exploring how to best support these efforts and welcome your ideas and feedback. Please keep in mind these are not official NYU groups and activities and are only open for NYU employees, contractors, and student workers.

Google Discussion/Support Group

This Google group is open to NYU account holders and is intended for discussing coaching-related topics as well as to plan and coordinate in-person meetings.

In-Person Practice and Discussion

Gaining competency in coaching, or any skill for that matter, relies on actively practicing it.  The purpose of these support groups is to create a collaborative and supportive space in which to discuss and practice.   It allows us to experiment and take risks without judgment, and explore how others would approach various scenarios.

While this is a work in progress, the general format would be for the group to pick one or two topics to discuss and then practice applying our learnings in pairs.   If there is interest we may also sometimes utilize a mastermind format to discuss and troubleshoot specific problems. There is also the possibility of specific workshops or presentations by myself or some of my coaching colleagues – or any group members who have something to share.

I’m happy to accommodate dedicated sessions for specific teams and business units as long as all participants are attending of their own free will.

This service is open freely to NYU employees and student workers and is not a formal NYU program at this time.  Meetings will be coordinated via the coaching-support Google group.

NOTE: Participation will require acceptance of, and adherence to, our Group Agreement.
