Screening of CANE FIRE, followed by a conversation with filmmaker ANTHONY BANUA-SIMON and Känaka Maoli scholar and filmmaker IKAIKA RAMONES (Anthropology, NYU). Cane Fire explores the economic and cultural forces that cast Indigenous Hawaiian and working-class residents as “extras” in their own story.
