PRODUCTION GUIDELINES FOR STUDENT WORK
Students who wish to produce video material for Open Arts class projects must follow the Tisch School of the Arts Safety Production Guidelines. These guidelines can be found online in the Tisch School of the Arts /filmguide:
https://wikis.nyu.edu/display/tsoaftv/Production+Safety+Guidelines
You are required to read those production guidelines fully before you go out on any media productions and you are required to complete all necessary paperwork and follow all safety procedures as listed in the production guidelines. The most obvious rule to follow is to use common sense: Be diligent about your safety. If working as part of a group, if any member of the crew feels the project is unsafe, it probably is and you need to adjust your activity so that it is safe.
If you are not in charge of the production, do not hesitate to bring your concerns to the attention of the person in charge, such as the director or producer. Students should consult with their instructors to identify whether elements of their creative work present higher levels of risk, and to discuss how to address those risks while preserving their creative vision. Questions about production guidelines should be sent to Open Arts Production Supervisor Bill Tunnicliffe at wlt2001@nyu.edu
(2) Students who choose to produce work in accordance with these guidelines must complete and sign a Basic Student Project Agreement acknowledging that they have read and understood the Safety Production Guidelines and that their project will follow those guidelines.
