Animation Post-production

At this stage, I edited the animation, designed the sound and dubbing, and designed the title and ending sequence.

Compositing & Editing

Because I used clipping(剪映) at the beginning stage of animatics, I completed the later time adjustment and composition in clipping. A small part of them is done in AE. I also added English subtitles at this stage.

Title & Ending Sequence

I mainly use my handwritten Chinese calligraphy as my title in this part. Because the characters “辣” and “酱” have features similar to some shapes, I design the shapes of chili and spicy sauce jar into the two characters.

I put the title sequence in the middle of the animation because it is the first place where the complete spicy sauce product appears. In the end, these two characters appear again, recalling the title.

Sound Design & Ending Sequence

My grandmother and I complete the dubbing in the sound design part. Since this is the story of our family, and my grandmother can use dialect to say lines, I think it is appropriate. But the sound quality can be improved.

In the ending sequence, I added some photos taken in my mother’s and grandma’s vegetable yard. This makes the animation more convincing and interacts with the previous realistic background.
