Mentors
BrainWaves mentors play an instrumental role in supporting and inspiring underserved students in becoming future neuroscientists. Once a week for a semester, mentors go into our participating schools to help students/teachers implement the BrainWaves program (e.g. assist during lab days). We support our neuroscience mentors with the skills needed to work with high school students to develop their own neuroscience experiments (e.g. review of curriculum, use of EEG software and hardware).
If you have a neuroscience background and are interested in being a part of our 2019-2020 mentor cohort, please fill out our application (click here). Mentors will receive a $500 stipend upon completion of their placement. Feel free to contact Luis Pérez-Cuesta (Luis.PC@nyu.edu) with any questions or further details.
