Jetpack is a popular plugin used across NYU Web Publishing for everything from creating galleries, to rendering mathematical equations, and creating contact forms. The most recent version of Jetpack, which NYU IT is upgrading to on Friday, June 2 at 8pm ET, includes some changes to the way the plugin works. While the overall functionality has not changed, extra steps are necessary to activate and deactivate individual modules within the plugin. If Jetpack is already activated on your site, there is no need to reactivate it for the changes to take effect.
To activate and deactivate Jetpack modules, you’ll now need to follow these steps:
- Once Jetpack is activated, click on Jetpack on the left menu of your site dashboard.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Click Debug.
- Towards the bottom of the Jetpack Debugging Center, click Access the full list of Jetpack modules available on your site.
- You will now be able to activate and deactivate Jetpack modules from this page.
Lastly, if you would prefer not to click through the menus, you can navigate to https://wp.nyu.edu/<YOUR SITE ADDRESS>/wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack-debugger in order to access the Jetpack modules directly. An example would be “https://wp.nyu.edu/nyuknowledgesite/wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack-debugger”.
